Just before Halloween, before the Winter officially arrives, it’s time for Oktoberfest. Any beer-loving-fuck wants to hop on to a plane to Bavaria for a stein, but sometimes it’s just not possible. So, we’ve made a list of ways to bring the festival a little closer to home. Grab the tissues, this is what The Carouser is boning over for Oktoberfest in London.
Event: This year, East London cool-dome Hoxton are having their own Bavarian party. Taking place on the weekend of the 20th of October in Hoxton Docks, Hoxtober Fest is promising plenty of sausage… and of course beer.
Drink: One of our most beloved beer companies, Flying Dog Brewery has brought out their seasonal offering of an Oktoberfest-style beer. Dogtoberfest is a Märzen at a healthy 5.30%abv. It’s a great toasty-flavoured drink – perfect for this abysmal weather.
Bar: The only bar you should be going to, to truly capture the spirit of Oktoberfest, is the Bavarian Beerhouse London. Take your pick from the Tower Hill or Old Street branch and immerse yourself in the closest thing you can get to a Munich holiday. We recommend heading there on a Friday for a party Bavarian-style.
Video: And if you don’t think Oktoberfest in London can be as good as Munich, check out what Asia are doing. The Craft Beer Channel cover China’s crazy Oktoberfest and it looks like a riot.
