The Yardbirds have launched a new pledge campaign for their next album.
The band are partnering with PledgeMusic to release their next studio album and are asking fans to ‘preserve one of the founding most influential bands in rock history’. Pledges start from as little at £11 for a digital download to a massive £11,321 to book the band at a venue of your choice. Vinyl, band tees and meet the band experiences are also available.
This album will be the first since Birdland in 2003 but a release date and title are yet to be revealed. Jack Douglas has already been booked for the recording which is said to be original songs and a few covers in the style of ‘how the Yardbirds deconstructed, re-constructed and resurrected, old blues songs to bring them to a new wider audience.’
The current line up includes original member Jim McCarty, backed by Johnny A., Kenny Aaronson, Myke Scavone and John Idan. See the full details of The Yardbirds’ full pledge campaign here.
