At the end of season 5, the Yellowstone mythology has proven to be very deep, but the creators of the show have recently given fans a few prequel series to help them learn more. The most recent book is, of course, 1923, which was written by Taylor Sheridan.
Taylor and John Linson came up with the idea for the first season of the show, which started airing in 2018. The show is about the conflicts between a large cattle ranch, an Indian reservation, and land developers.
Even though 1923 is a prequel to Yellowstone, it is a sequel to 1883 and brings us closer to the characters we’ve grown to love in the main series.

Spencer Dutton is the nephew of Harrison Ford’s character Jacob Dutton and the brother of James Badge Dale’s character John Dutton Sr. In the movie Yellowstone, Sr is John Dutton III’s (Kevin Costner) great-grandfather.
Spencer fought in World War I and knows how to track and hunt big game. His trauma is quickly shown in the first episode and will have a huge effect on his character arc as the season goes on.
Looking back, it’s important to remember that Spencer has been to Yellowstone before, but only as a small child in a flashback scene in season 4. In the flashback, it was shown that Spencer’s dad is James Dutton, who in 1883 was played by Tim McGraw.
Even though the character has been seen in flashbacks, 1923 is the first time we see him or her as a fully grown adult.

American actor Brandon Sklenar is best known for his parts in the movies Midway, Mapplethorpe, and Vice. Bruce Feakins and Francine Sklenar brought up Sklenar in Northern New Jersey, where he was born. His mother was born in Czechoslovakia.
His TV work includes Westworld (Henry), The Offer (Burt Reynolds), and Walker: Independence, which came out more recently (Liam Collins). 1923 is the most important TV role he’s had so far.
In movies, he has played Brent in Emily the Criminal with Aubrey Plaza, George “Tex” Gay in Midway, Officer Hill in Karen, Junior in The Big Ugly, John in Indigo Valley, Bobby Prentace in Vice, and James in Temple.

It’s an exciting time to join the Yellowstone family, and Helen Mirren (Cara Dutton), who is also new to the franchise, recently praised Taylor Sheridan’s work and accomplishments in Slash Film:
“I have no doubt that there was a lot of violence in the American West as it was being taken over and built. We didn’t know about that for a long time because we watched westerns, which were mostly about gun fights and other violent scenes, but gave a very romantic view of American history.
She went on to say, “And I think the best thing Taylor Sheridan does is look at American history with a very cold and piercing eye. Of course, he tells it in a very dramatic way, and there is a romantic element to it, if you will because these are real people who fall in love, argue, fight, and break up.
