People all over the world are spending time with their friends, family, and other important people in their lives. Even though the most wonderful time of the year lets us try to connect with each other, it also means that many series and shows won’t be at the top of our lists as we plan family dinners and buy last-minute gifts.
Fans of the neo-western series Yellowstone on Paramount+ won’t have to worry about missing an episode on Christmas Day. The midseason finale of Season 5 will not air this Sunday, December 25, but will instead come a week later on New Year’s Day.
On November 13, a two-hour event on the Paramount Network marked the start of the fifth season. Since then, a new episode of the show has come out every Sunday. The next episode will be called “A Knife and No Coin,” and it will be the eighth one. It will also be the midseason finale.
For people who might want to watch the show over the holidays, Paramount will air a Holiday Marathon with not only Yellowstone but also the other shows in the universe of Oscar-nominated screenwriter Taylor Sheridan. It will include the first episode of 1923, which just started airing, as well as the first and second episodes of 1883, which is also a prequel series. The marathon will start at 10 a.m. ET/PT on Christmas Day.
Yellowstone is still one of the most popular and well-liked shows on TV, and the premiere of Season 5 got a lot of attention. The first episode of the new season drew in 12.1 million viewers on the Paramount Network. This was more than the highly-anticipated HBO premiere of House of the Dragon, which only had 9.5 million viewers.
Sheridan has worked on or is working on a number of projects for Paramount+. Three of them are TV shows that take place in the Yellowstone universe. Mayor of Kingstown, Tulsa King, Bass Reeves, Lioness, and Land Man are some of his other series.

The Story and People Behind Yellowstone
Yellowstone was made by Sheridan and John Linson. It is about John Dutton (Kevin Costner) and his family, who run the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch, or just The Yellowstone, which is the largest cattle ranch in the United States. This ranch is always in trouble because it is next to a growing town, an Indian reservation, and vicious business rivals.
The series tells the story of the changing relationships, unsolved murders, open wounds, and hard-won respect that grow in the ranch with the same name. Sheridan and Linson are also the show’s executive producers.
Cole Hauser, Luke Grimes, Kelly Reilly, Wes Bentley, Kelsey Asbille, Brecken Merrill, Jefferson White, Forrie Smith, Denim Richards, Ian Bohen, Finn Little, Ryan Bingham, and Gil Birmingham are all part of the large all-star ensemble cast. Mo Brings Plenty, Wendy Moniz, Jen Landon, and Kathryn Kelly have been promoted to series regulars. Josh Lucas, who plays young John Dutton, is also back for the fifth season.
Jacki Weaver, Kylie Rogers, and Kyle Red Silverstein are also back, and Kai Caster, Lainey Wilson, Lilli Kay, and Dawn Olivieri join the already impressive cast. Along with being in the show, Costner is also one of the executive producers, along with Sheridan, Linson, Art Linson, David C. Glasser, Bob Yari, and Stephen Kay. MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios are in charge of making Yellowstone.
