According to IMDb, Charlbi was born in Cape Town, South Africa on February 5, 1990. Her first known performance was in the coming-of-age film Spud starring John Cleese and Troye Sivan.
Charlbi also joined forces with IMG Models for a blossoming modelling career in addition to her acting career.
Her most notable acting performance was as Syonide in the superhero series Black Lightning on The CW.
Over the course of nine episodes of the series in 2018, Charlbi portrayed the bulletproof assassin.
Charlbi played Yaya as her final character in Triangle Of Sadness. With Harris Dickinson, she served as the co-lead in this satirical dark comedy.

How did she pass away?
Following Charlbi Dean’s untimely demise, there was an outpouring of shock, sadness, and heartfelt condolences as well as some ridiculous medical claims, which her brother refuted in an interview with Rolling Stone on Wednesday.
Dean was staying in New York with her fiancé, Luke Volker, when she started experiencing some minor symptoms that concerned her enough that she asked Volker to go with her to an emergency room. She then passed away a few hours later.
The New York City medical examiner confirmed that Charlbi Dean passed away in August from bacterial sepsis.
Her cause of death was given as bacterial sepsis aggravating asplenia owing to remote blunt force trauma of torso, according to the medical examiner.
Dean was engaged in a car accident in 2009 where had her spleen removed and had damaged ribs and a shattered back. The spleen in involved in fighting off infections so this could be part of the reason for her death.
