His obituary is posted on the website for The Fours Sixes Ranch:
“Dr. Blodgett didn’t just manage the horse division; he lived and breathed it. The horse business is a reputation business, and his approach was simple: his passion, credibility, and honesty set him and the ranch apart. Under his leadership, the ranch became an industry leader in reproduction, breeding more than 1500 mares annually.”

The Yellowstone series by Taylor Sheridan is made up, but the Four Sixes Ranch is a real place in Texas. Captain Samuel “Burk” Burnett started Burnett Ranches in 1870. It now has 260,000 acres, and the headquarters of the Four Sixes Ranch is near Guthrie.
It is said that Taylor Sheridan himself bought the famous Four Sixes Ranch in January of 2022. Sheridan’s wife, Nicole, paid tribute to Dr. Glenn Blodgett on Instagram after he died. “It’s with a lot of sadness that the 6666 Ranch tells you that Dr. Glenn Blodgett has died. Doc, as everyone who knew him called him, has been in charge of the horses for forty years,” she wrote.
“His impact on the performance horse industry and the quarter horse itself will likely outlive us all. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him and deeply mourned by his 6666 family. Our condolences, love, and prayers to the Blodgett family. I’ll miss you, Friend.”
Yellowstone Season 5 will start airing new episodes this summer, 2023.
