When Yellowstone first cast Brecken Merrill, he was just eight years old. The Taylor Sheridan series would become one of the most popular shows of its time, and Merrill’s role as Kayce and Monica’s son Tate would be the start of his acting career. A lot of the actors on the show have talked about being recognized and even surrounded by fans who are too excited, but luckily Merrill hasn’t had the same experience.
Fans Crowd Around The “Yellowstone” Actors and Actresses!
Some of the actors in Yellowstone have become more famous than they could have ever imagined. Cole Hauser, who plays Rip Wheeler in the Taylor Sheridan series, seems to have felt this way because of the show.
It’s not a secret that Rip has won over a lot of the show’s fans. Hauser has talked about how women would crowd around him when he was out and about. Hauser told Outsider that he and Taylor Sheridan went to a rodeo in Texas together.

Cole Hauser told the crowd of Yellowstone fans, “All I can say is thank God for the Fort Worth Police.” “Not to sound like an a—hole, but I felt a little bit like Elvis. Even more so after a few drinks, women… So, it can get a little weird.”
Yellowstone Fans Don’t Usually Recognize Brecken Merrill
Acting on Yellowstone hasn’t been as hard for some of the show’s younger actors, which is great. When he was only eight years old, Brecken Merrill joined the cast of Yellowstone as Tate Dutton. Now that he is 14, he looks very different from how he did in season 1.
Merrill isn’t as well known as some of the other Yellowstone actors because he grew up on the set. “By the time a season airs, I’m usually older,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “So, I look way older. I’m not often recognized, but when I am, it’s cool. “Personally, I don’t want to be known.”
Finn Little, who joined the cast in season 4 as Carter, might have the same problem. Little looked like a different person when season 5 of the show came back. In an Instagram Post, the actor made a joke about this, writing, “When you say, “Hi, nice to see you!” and the film crew doesn’t know who you are!”
More Kids Were Added To The Cast of “Yellowstone”
Brecken Merrill was initially one of the only children working on the Yellowstone set. When Finn Little was cast as Carter in season 4, everything changed.
“There have never been any kids on the show,” Merrill told ET. “Finn and I have some scenes together in this season. We’ve gotten along well over the years. We’re good friends. We like the same kinds of music.”
In season 5 of Yellowstone, Kyle Red Silverston also played a much bigger part. “Kyle, who plays young Rip, is also one of my best friends,” Merrill said.
New episodes of Yellowstone Season 5 will air this summer, 2023.
