Since Yellowstone started airing in 2018, the show has kept getting better in many ways.
We’ve also seen the main series grow, with season 5 shaping up to be the biggest one yet. There are also a few spin-off series in the works.
But fans who were hoping to watch episode 9 of Yellowstone Season 5 on January 8 will be disappointed to find out that there won’t be a new episode. Why is that?
Yellowstone Season 5: Recap
Yellowstone Season 5 started on November 13, 2022, on Paramount Network in the US, and on November 14, 2022, on Paramount+ around the world.
John Dutton was sworn in as the new governor of Montana at the start of the new episode. His new job has stopped Market Equities from building an airport on Yellowstone Ranch, but it has also made John a bigger target.
In order to play the long game, the company has brought in Sarah Atwood, a “corporate shark,” who has been given permission to use any means necessary to get rid of John.
After finding out that Jamie Dutton and his adoptive father are rivals, Atwood went after the black sheep of the Dutton family to break them up.
In episode 8, her plan came to fruition when John was put on trial for impeachment after Jamie said he was abusing his position for his own benefit.
In order to get Jamie to back down, Beth threatened to release photos of Jamie that were bad for him, but Jamie said that would only show how many crimes the Duttons had been hiding.
Jamie and Sarah planned to deal with Beth because they knew she could be a dangerous threat.
Why is Yellowstone Season 5 Episode 9 Not Airing Tonight?
The mid-season break means that episode 9 of Yellowstone season 5 will not air on January 8.
Yellowstone’s current episode may be the biggest one in the show’s history, but season 5 has been split into two parts as a result.
Episode 8 marked the end of part 1, so fans will have to wait a long time for part 2, which is expected to come out later in 2023. No date has been set for episode 9, though.
Yellowstone has stopped airing, but its spin-off series 1923 is still on, and a new episode is set to air on January 8.
How Many Episodes Are There in Total?
