Disney Has Officially Decided To Put More Money Into Phineas and Ferb!
The popular animated comedy will be back for 40 all-new episodes, with original creator Dan Povenmire in charge. This was announced on January 13 by the House of Mouse.
Povenmire, who also voices the character Dr. Doofenshmirtz, released a heartfelt statement after hearing that the show would be coming back. “It’s been the highlight of my career to see how a whole generation of kids and parents have taken to Phineas and Ferb’s characters and humor,” he said. “I can’t wait to get back into the show for them and a whole new generation of viewers.”
The deal is with Disney Branded Television, which means that the new version of the cartoon could air anywhere on Disney Channel, Disney+, Disney Junior, or Disney XD. Since its first season in 2007, Phineas and Ferb have had 129 episodes, as well as multiple specials and two movies: Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension in 2011 and Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Candace Against the Universe in 2020.
Ayo Davis, who is the president of Disney Branded Television, said something similar to what Povenmire said. Davis said, “Dan is known for being able to make stories and characters that everyone loves with both heart and humor.” “We couldn’t be happier to keep working with him and bring the famous Phineas and Ferb back in a big way.”

Meredith Roberts, who is the executive vice president of animation, said, “Dan is a true mastermind, and his brilliant storytelling has always been infused with a kind-hearted and optimistic sense of humor that continues to hit a perfect chord with audiences all over the world.”
“On behalf of everyone at Disney Television Animation, we’re so happy to keep working with Dan and his inspiring creative team of visionary producers, writers, animators, song composers, and directors who have entertained and connected with generations of viewers.”
A live-action development deal has also been signed with Povenmire, and a second season of his show Hamster & Gretel has been ordered.
Along with Povenmire, the cast of Phineas and Ferb includes Vincent Martella, Thomas Sangster, Ashley Tisdale, Maulik Pancholy, Alyson Stoner, and Dee Bradley Baker. Jeff “Swampy” Marsh, who helped make the show, may or may not come back.
