The first half of Yellowstone’s Season 5 has been nothing but thrilling, with the Dutton family’s never-ending drama, backstabbing, fights, fun, and romance.
Season five is definitely one of the most popular seasons of the show. The premiere alone had more than 12 million viewers, making it the most-watched TV show in the US.
The story of the Duttons, led by the family patriarch, John Dutton (Kevin Costner), and his three very different children, Beth (Kelly Reilly), Kayce (Luke Grimes), and Jamie (Wes Bentley), is certainly interesting.
Fans were disappointed when they found out that the next episode won’t come out until part 2 of season 5 comes out later in the summer. This Was Revealed In A Trailer For The Show’s Official Podcast.
Still, everyone can’t wait to see what the co-creator of the show, Taylor Sheridan, has in store for us.
But we think we know what will happen. Here are seven things that could happen in the last six episodes of Season 5 of Yellowstone.
1. Jamie Might Go To The Train Station
In Yellowstone Season 5 Part 2, Jamie could go to the train station, which his adoptive father John calls “the trash can for everyone who’s attacked us.”
Basically, it’s where they bury the people they kill, like Jamie’s biological father Garrett Randall, without drawing too much attention from the police (Will Patton).
Who will take Jamie to the train station? Most of his family is already mad at him for trying to get rid of John as governor of Montana and replace him with someone else.
Beth hates him the most, and in episode 8 of season 5 of the show, she is the one who suggests killing him.
“Dad, if there is a place where our enemies go where no one ever finds out and they never come back, I think that’s where Jamie should go.” She says.
Could Rip Kill Jamie?
Rip, who is played by Cole Hauser and is married to Beth, wouldn’t think twice about killing Jamie if he had a good reason to do so. He has already shown that for his wife, he would do anything.
In the last episode of Yellowstone season 5, part 1, there are several flashbacks that take us back to when Rip was a teenager and killed Beth’s “boy toy” just because he said something sexual about her.
Rip has already promised to be loyal to the ranch and the Duttons. Just think of what he’s willing to do for them now that the government backs him.
Does Kayce Want Rip Dead
John and Beth don’t like Jamie, but Kayce has a different opinion of his adopted brother. Throughout the show, he always calls the Harvard graduate his brother, but we don’t know if he knows that their parents aren’t the same.
No matter what, Kayce would not be happy about Jamie’s death, even if he was adopted and his real father tried to kill John. So, he would be disappointed if it turned out that his family was involved, As Some Fans on Reddit Think.
“Even though Kayce didn’t give birth to Jamie, she still thinks of him as a brother. When they last talked, Kayce told Jamie that he should still call him that. Jamie’s dad called the hit, but I think only Beth knows that. I have no doubt at all that Beth would put the blame on Jamie, though.” One Reddit user said.
Some other Yellowstone fans say that Kayce loves Jamie so much that he would kill for him, especially if it turned out that Rip was the one who killed Jamie.
“If Rip did it, Kacey would probably kill him, since they already don’t like each other. John probably wouldn’t care if Beth or Rip did it. He only cares about himself, and that’s why all three of his sons are no longer in his life. Someone replied on Reddit.
Another person said, “Kayce and Jamie have shown many times that they love each other when they have been on screen together. It’s clear they love each other, especially when they talk about each other when they’re not around. Kayce would kill Rip if he killed Jamie.
2. Jamie Could Grow Braver
Jamie has changed in Yellowstone Season 5, as any fan can tell you. He’s no longer the sad son we saw in previous seasons, who was always trying to please his adoptive father and let Beth boss him around.
In the second half of the season, he might get braver and more interested in himself.
Maybe his relationship with Sarah Atwood (Dawn Olivieri) has made him realize his place in the Dutton family and made him decide to stand up for himself and do what’s best for him, no matter what Beth and John think.
This could be why he works with Atwood to come up with a plan to get rid of John so he can become the new governor of Montana and then follows through with it.
Also, Jamie doesn’t back down when Beth finds out about his plan against their father and tries to blackmail him in episode 8 of season 5. Instead, he threatens to destroy John and the ranch as a whole, which is how his sister finds out about the train station.
Wes Bentley told USA Today about his character that at that point, Jamie gets a taste of power, which is something he’s never had before.
“It was a great feeling for Jamie to know that he has the upper hand and is stronger than her instead of being afraid of her,” Bentley said.
At the end of the episode, Jamie thinks about hiring someone to kill Beth before she kills him (the old Jamie could have gladly accepted his fate).
Atwood Might Betray Jamie
The new Jamie has more confidence in himself and feels like he fits into Atwood’s life. But Yellowstone Twitter thinks it would be a big mistake for him to trust his lover. In part 2 of season 5, he will find out that his lover has been playing him, and he will lose all hope and confidence.

In reality, Atwood went after Jamie because Jacki Weaver’s character, Caroline Warner, CEO of Market Equities, hired her to get rid of the Duttons.
She thought at the time that he was the weakest link in the family, and she may have been right because the Dutton empire is finally falling apart, which shows how good she is at her job.
As expected, Jamie will be hurt when he finds out that Atwood only used him as an “Assignment,” especially since he hasn’t shown much love for any other woman on the show.
3. John Could Be Thrust Into a Nightmare Scenario
The first part of Yellowstone season 5 has been easy for John Dutton, especially since he became governor of Montana and didn’t spend much time doing his job.
But things aren’t going well for the head of the Dutton family or his ranch, so the next six episodes could be rough. This is why:
Jamie Wants To Impeach Him
First of all, John’s adopted son Jamie has turned against him. John spent years making Jamie into a tool he could use and control.
If Jamie’s plan to remove John from office in the second half of season 5 of Yellowstone worked, John would lose the power he had just gained. Remember that even though he doesn’t like being governor of Montana, the job makes him almost impossible to get rid of.
So, without John’s power, the Duttons will be weak, and who knows which of their many enemies will attack first?
Even if the old Dutton stays in charge, John’s relationship with Jamie will never be the same.
In episode 5, when his assistant Clara Brewer (Lilli Kay) asks if Kayce is his youngest son, the governor says, “That’s my only son, Clara.” This means he no longer thinks of Jamie as his child.
Yellowstone Ranch Cattle Are Sick
In the next part of Yellowstone season 5, John will also have to deal with the effects of Brucellosis on his cattle.
In the first part of the show, he has to send the sick cattle to Texas. Later, he tells Beth that keeping the animals down south will cost him $1.4 million per month.
Since he doesn’t have the money, he might have to take out a loan, which could be hard if he’s removed as governor.
Episode 2’s Dead Wolves
In the rest of season 5, John will have to deal with the Yellowstone Park wolves that the bunkhouse boys killed because Rip told them to in episode 2.
In episode 8, the environmental group Wolf Watch puts out a press release that makes it sound like Yellowstone Ranch killed the park’s wolves.
Remember that the people of Montana love wolves. Ryan (Ian Bohen) says that they’ve even made Facebook pages for them.
So, what will happen when people find out that the animals were killed on the ranch of the governor? If Jamie’s impeachment doesn’t get him fired, then that crime will.
4. John Could Date Governor Perry Instead of Summer
Even though John Dutton is dating Summer Higgins on the side, he and Governor Lyelle Perry have been getting closer and closer over the last few episodes.
Summer is on house arrest at the Dutton house since she got out of jail, so she spends a lot of time with John.
In episode 7 of season 5, they go to the county fair together and lock their lips, which shows that they aren’t afraid to show how much they like each other.
Summer is also trying to figure out what it means to be a rancher and what John does, which could mean she wants to be in his life for a while.
John still wants Summer around, even though she fights with his daughter Beth all the time. It looks like John either likes having a younger, more attractive woman around for fun or has the plan to use her interest in the environment to his and the ranch’s benefit in the near future.
Even though it’s clear that John likes Summer, many fans think Governor Perry is a better long-term choice for John.
John likes Governor Perry, who is a much better match for him, so many fans think she will slowly win his love and get him to leave Summer.
5. Kayce’s Family Could Move to Main Yellowstone Homestead
Even though Kayce is a cowboy at heart, Yellowstone Ranch has never interested him.
Monica (Kelsey Asbille) informs Summer in episode 6 that her husband no longer wishes to inherit the land when the Duttons leave for the mountains and the Duttons leave for the mountains.
“After marrying the ranch’s heir, the heir no longer desires the ranch,” Monica says.
John and Kayce haven’t been close for a long time, which is why John stays away from the ranch as much as possible. But when the show comes back this summer, he might be helping his father, John, run it. This would let his family spend more time on the land.
In the eighth episode of Season 5, John asks Monica to ask Kayce to run the ranch while he’s in Helena. Since Tate is going to take over the business, they should help out to make sure everything is in order.
Monica tells Kayce that his father wants them to move to the ranch. He thinks about it, so they could move there.
Since Monica wants to try again, they might even have another child.
6. Carter Could Get His First Girlfriend
In episode 6 of Yellowstone’s fifth season, we met Halie, the girl Carter (Finn Little) likes.
She might become the teen’s first girlfriend in the last six episodes of the show’s most recent season.
Entertainment Weekly said in October 2022 that Gottesman’s Yellowstone character is very important to Carter’s growth.
“In season 5, Halie becomes the person who helps Carter break out of his shell and learn more about himself. Carter wants Halie to be around all the time. When Halie comes along, he finally has someone who can fill that role and help him.
These high school sweethearts haven’t spent much time together so far this season. But I think that will change in the next episodes.
