First Yellowstone, now 1923? We don’t know what we’ll do on Sunday nights now that both Yellowstone-related shows are on hiatus.
Yellowstone said that it will be back in the summer after its mid-season finale. After the January 8 episode, 1923 said it would be taking a break as well. Jacob and Cara Dutton are fighting to keep their land. Luckily, we won’t have to wait as long to find out what happens next. Paramount+ said that there will be new episodes of 1923 on February 5.
Fans are left wondering, “Why is 1923 taking a break?” Paramount+ hasn’t said why the show is on hold, but new episodes of Mayor of Kingstown, another show created by Taylor Sheridan, start on January 15. This suggests that the streaming service may be spacing out the new shows.
A mid-season trailer from Paramount+ gave us something to look forward to. They wrote the words, “The story is still going on. #1923TV is coming back to #ParamountPlus on February 5 with all-new episodes.”
The new promo for the second half of the season is action-packed. Jacob Dutton (Harrison Ford) appears to be recuperating from his gunshot wound only in time to battle Banner Creighton (Jerome Flynn) and the sheepherders, while Spencer (Brandon Sklenar) and Alexandra (Julia Schlaepfer) embark on their treacherous voyage from Africa to Montana.
Fans jumped in right away with comments like, “Wait a whole freaking month, but whyyyyyyyyy?😭😭😭😭” “Can’t believe we have to wait, but at least the Mayor of Kingstown is back in the meantime,” and “Wait, what? That was the last show for almost a month. Annoying.”
The break gives people a lot of time to watch the first four episodes (which are only on Paramount+) or other shows like Yellowstone.
